Fukuoka Airport International to Beppu: a direct-bus family guide
Follow the journey from baggage claim at Fukuoka Airport International Terminal to a Beppu-bound highway bus and your accommodation.

From baggage claim to stop 10
Before leaving the restricted arrivals area
Report delayed or damaged checked baggage to the airline before entering the public lobby. Regroup with every traveller, bag and stroller.
International Terminal, first-floor arrivals
Follow the highway-bus signs. The Beppu service boards on the international side, so do not take the free shuttle to the domestic terminal for this route.
Highway-bus stop 10
The airport’s official destination guide assigns Beppu to stop 10 within the 9–11 highway-bus zone. Confirm “Beppu” and your booked service on the display or with staff before joining the queue.
Book first, then board
Secure a seat
The Toyonokuni service is reserved seating. A full bus cannot take additional passengers, so book through the operator’s official channel once your travel date is fixed.
Recheck the same-day service
Follow the airport’s official page to the operator’s booking and timetable. Do not use an old screenshot, especially around the announced 1 October 2026 timetable change.
Prepare children and luggage
Use toilets and baby-care facilities and buy drinks before queueing. Ask the operator about large baggage and strollers before booking or at the stop.
Choose the stop from your accommodation backwards
Kannawa area
Kannawa-guchi may be suitable. Match it with the accommodation’s official access page and check slopes and the final walk.
Tourist-port area
Odan-doro Kanko-ko Iriguchi may be suitable. It may not be at the port building itself, so check the final walk or taxi.
Central Beppu
Beppu Kitahama may be suitable. It is not Beppu Station, so even station-area guests should confirm the closest stop with their accommodation.
Four family decisions
- 01Allow road-delay margin before dinner or check-in deadlines
- 02Compare a short taxi ride when the final walk is difficult with luggage
- 03Near the last service, secure transport before shopping
- 04If sold out, cancelled or heavily delayed, search the official alternatives via Hakata or Tenjin and contact the accommodation
How to read fare and journey time
The official route page shows a standard adult one-way fare of ¥3,250 for the Fukuoka–Beppu sector. Check child fares, discounts and the exact Fukuoka Airport journey time in the booking flow for your chosen date. The “about 2 hours 20 minutes” shown on the route page is for Tenjin to Beppu Kitahama and should not be reused as the airport departure time.
